Its great to reflect like old men on the Military of old but I don’t think its the place to go anymore.

I had a brother-n-law die at the mouth of the Mississippi a couple three years ago and if the Coast Guard would have moved through red tape liberal bureaucracy whilst they were talking to him through the hull, he’d still be alive today.

Furthermore, whilst you post pics of stacks of seized dope, many GI’s escort CIA drug shipments.

    Goodluck !
Dark side to everything I suppose.
In the meantime, that flag should be pulled down, p****d on, and then burned.

Thanks, Rob, for the Cliff Notes version. I knew you would have a plethora (my favorite word ) of information for Landrover.

It doesn’t take much to get Rob wound up about what he believes in.

Rob is one of TBH’s finest!

                Thank you

Hey Johnny44, YOU WANT TO GO ON A BOAT RIDE OFFSHORE? I can take you close to the creator - and you get to talk to him first hand out there too! Bet y'all become pretty close out there......I can guarantee ya!

I'll close here, for Johnny...................AND YES WE ARE AT WAR

Every storm that intensifies to points, life and safety along the coast, and the people who live and work in this Maritime Economy, depend on people trained and skilled, to rescue those in peril - PERIOD.

Mother Nature and God's will has ZERO TO DO, WITH THE POLITICAL CLIMATE, OF THE BEACH PEOPLE WHO SIT AND JUDGE THOSE IN PERIL, DOING THE BEST THEY CAN DO TO SAVE LIVES, PROPERTY AND RECOVER ALL - AFTER NATURE/NATURAL DISASTERS AND THE LIFECYCLE OF WORKING IN ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS JOBS ON THE PLANET - WHEN IT IS ON OFFSHORE!!

OUT THERE, LIFE TAKES ON A DIFFERENT MEANING - AND IT'S NOT TIED TO THE BEACH EXCEPT FOR PRAYER AND HOPE

Stomping on People because you feel POLITICALLY JADED = I hope you find peace somewhere cause - you certainly aren't learning anything here.

July 5th, 1992, Bering Sea (Bristol Bay) near Grave Yard Point is where I got close to and had my visit with the Creator. Commercial fishing salmon during a nasty storm. I watched people die. I watched the Coast Guard risk their lives trying to save those people. Two were saved - two were not.

"Life takes on a different meaning." Well said, Rob!

So many folks have no idea or respect just how bad things can get in perilous water. And how fast it happens. I was so impressed with the vessels that I worked around in Bristol Bay that I named my first born, Selket Rose, after two of them. "Lady Selket" & "Arctic Rose." They have both since sank. All 15 crewman were lost on one of them. Its a life that is not for everyone!

Good story! I could NOT handle those rough seas!

We’re fortunate to have folks that will put there lives in jeopardy to save someone they don’t know.

Thanks...and thanks to you Rob, aka The Wordmeister!

I chuckle at stuff like this, ever missed your chute drop and had to climb an oil rig in 12’ seas with all of your combat gear on…I have and still created pink mist and blue people.

I have met my maker several times and I don’t scare from mere mortals. Heck, I even drowned and “met the Wizard” TWICE ! I’ve survived some of the worst Maritime operations and conditions imaginable during the military.

I had just retired from the military and was down helping my brother-n-law on his shrimp boat and road out hurricane Katrina on that boat off of Chalmette, Louisiana. It was a real live Forrest Gump story cept Chalmette was wrecked and the BIL quit shrimping. I layed on a bunk just inside the cabin from the wheel, my brother-n-law was petrified. We pulled to the dock (loose term) after it was over, loaded what was left of his household goods on his tractor trailer rig, and he has never been back. He didn’t even sell the boat, just left it there. He has been drinking, snorting coke, smoking weed, and driving a truck out of Mobile Al every since. He also cries all the time like a hormonal girl.

And because of liability red tape, there are MANY situations where the Coast Guard WILL NOT SAVE YOUR BUTT OUT THERE…Period ! I woulda never in my life thought a Coast Guard rescue crew would talk to a man through a hull whilst waiting on red tape while he succumbed to cold waters and eventual drowning…But they did and the investigation report and video says so. I am as heartless and mechanical as they come and I couldn’t have let him die.

My point was, we are in a bad climate and maybe other than a Military career would be mo betta. Time to make a stand.
