Anyone have one of these with good or bad reviews and recommendations. 1.3 acre pond about 18’ in the bowl. Have a power pole about 125’ away but don’t care to add another meter just for the pond.
Ponds usually need aeration on hot still days. Dissolved oxygen crashes are most common at night- aquatic plants and animals both consume oxygen at night. Physical aeration, typically wind, is very important.
A windmill may not help when you need it the most.
I installed one on a tank I used to own, it lasted about 4 years before the diaphragm in the compressor went bad. I believe it was 12' or so tall.
I have a solar powered one now at my new farm and I think it is much more efficient, I run two aerator heads. As long as there is daylight it will circulate the water.
This tank was built in 1979 and was use for cattle water. I no longer have any cattle. It is 12ft deep, the water is much cleaner than before and the fish seem to be healthy. I did spend money on chemicals for a year to get rid of muck and algae.
I bought this one from here, I called them and they gave me recommendations on the size for my tank and answered all my dumb questions. I would do business with them again.
Solar pond aeration systems for increasing oxygen content and de-icing ponds, fountains, large stock tanks, etc. Improve the health of your water without the use of chemicals.
