Went to my Pig lease and found an interesting pic. Now I wonder if I should be shooting coyotes on site or should I leave it alone to help with the pig population or only shoot them if they don't have a piggy in their mouth
Read the book coyote america, you can kill them all you want, you can’t get rid of them. The more you kill, they instinctively have more pups to over come the loss, very smart animals.
Leave them. They do way more good than bad in regulating numbers of other animals; truly an important part of the system. Somewhat helps to keep deer populations in check as well.

I don't shoot them in the warmer months unless they're sick with mange or something. I want them to raise their young so they're plentiful when pelts or worth something.
But if you're trying to keep them from eating baby deer that's up to you. If I was worried about that I'd target them hard when pups are in the den or haven't been born yet. But I'm not.
Shooting one or two here and there won't matter either way. Trapping or gunning them out of helicopters for months and months is the only way you're going to see less coyotes.
