Take her to Ant Street Inn in Brenham. Old historic house turned into a B&B. All kinds of antiques and stuff in town. We stayed there a couple of anniversaries ago and had a great time.

Rose Gardens are nice and also go through the Brick street are if flowers are still blooming (Azaelia District). Stay out of Bulter College even though there is some history there. I was a cop there many moons ago. As far as place to stay Id look for a guest house or bungalow in the Brick district.

Hot Springs or Natchitoches Louisiana, both different enough from Texas t be somewhere else. Broken Bow is cool, but lots of people now.
