There aren’t lots of easterns anywhere in Texas. Even our best counties are a joke compared to states that actually have a good population of birds. Lot of habitat work needs to be done and they can’t expand if they get shot the first time they show up in new places.
They don’t “show up” where I hunt. They have been there for YEARS.....most populated county of Easterns in the state. And there has been exactly 1 bird killed there in the last 3 years total. Not from lack of birds.....from lack of not getting to go the past 2 years....lol
