what power and which bino's to get?

I am wanting a new pair of bino's for the up coming season and dont know which one's to get and what power to get? Been using Nikon 10x50's for the past 6 or 7 seasons. I am not looking to spend big $$$ somewhere in the $500 range max. Thanks for your input! Oh, gonna get them from Cabelas since I have credit card points.

Well 500 bucks is a lot more than I have to spend but if you plan on using mainly for bowhunting I like the size and weight of my 10X42. I just got them last season and am mad I didn't do it sooner. Mine aren't a 500 dollar pair. They are made by simmons and more of their upper line. I see through them as clearly in the woods as my buddies nikons and bushnells.

cant go wrong with nikon, they are very clear and they wont hurt the wallet as much as swarovski or leica. 10x42

these wont be for bowhunting, I have a compact pair for that. These will be for scouting, guiding and the very little rifle hunting that i do. The Leupold Green Ring Olympic's have caught my eye. If i could i would get a pair of Leica's but cant. Never thought a $2000 pair of bino's would be worth it till i used my buddies.....WOW but i cant play that game. but wished i could, so just wanting to get the best for the $$$ i want to spend.

What size objectives are you willing to lug around? My favorite bowhunting binoculars are 5x32. Not very much magnification, but good exit pupil for dawn and dusk, small and light weight.

You can get some Steiner Military Marine 7x50s for less than $500. No focusing. Very clear and gather a lot of light for dawn and dusk.

I went from Nikon 12X50s to Vortex 10X40 diamondbacks.

Get all the Vortex 10Xs (viper)you can get for your budget and if you are dissapointed I'll buy them from you!

PM Arrowsmith here for the hookup.

it doesnt matter to me just as long as they are clear. With that being said is a 12x50 way better than a 10x50? I dont know squat about bino's

You'll get a lot of different opinions on this. But to my way of thinking, light gathering ability is more important than magnification. At least for hunting. Most of the action is in low light, right? A 10x50 will gather WAY more light than a 12x50 at dawn and dusk.

the leupold acadias are a good bino too, alos minox which is made by leica are a good bino. you can get a pair of 10x36 or 10x42 for around 5 or 6 hundred. I would go with the best quality 10x42 that you can afford for what you are goin to use them for. i also have a compact 10x36 nikon that i bowhunt with, but a big pair of minox 10x50s that i use when i guide and rifle hunt with too, or if im doing alot of glassing like on an aoudad or elk hunt. good look and let us know what you decide on. i hope that was of some sort of help
