Mule Deer Hunt - When?

Anyone have any experience hunting mule deer in the sand hills of Nebraska? What would you say the best time to archery hunt mule deer in this area would be? Possibly scheduling a hunt soon. Thanks for any input

I hunted NE Colorado which is basically the same thing. Depends on rifle/archery but in NE Colorado the rut is gonna be around the middle of November.

Rutting mule deer will be on the move and have a group or harem of doe with him when he stays in one area.
Early season big bucks will be solitary and might be easier to stalk up on but you'll have to find them.
I would try before the rifle season .

We used to go hunt sand hills area then our farmer friend cleared his pastures of cedars, deer numbers and turkeys were affected and not in a good way for us.
