with those transferable skills, you should not have a hard time finding employment
get an updated/current resume' done, and start passing it out to everyone you know ... family , friends, past school teachers, past employers, co-ops , feed stores, etc.....
you will need to do some vocational research to identify the employment opportunities listed in your geographic area of residence
i do this for a profession and helk people all the time
if you need help, drop me a PM and I'll provide my support, opinions, and direction

Sorry to hear the news. It is very tough out there now. We were told Nov. 11 that we were losing our jobs. At least it gave people time to look. We have had around 20 leave so far for something else. The plant closes next Wed the 15th. I have a job to go to & I fly out on the 16th. It is with Phillips Kiln Services, going to Carlen, Nevada to work on a ball mill. Job supposed to last 33 days. Then who knows where & when. I also have a meeting in Springfield today about another job. It is in Central Illinois about 2 1/2 hours away. Would be home more with it. I used to be a heavy equipment/ag mechanic. John deere up here is needing mechanics bad, they called me but I don't miss working on tractors, etc. If I wouldn't of found anything might have done it. Also a possibility of working on your own until something comes up. Lots of people always wanting somebody to work on their tractors, cars, etc. An individual is a lot cheaper than dealerships. Of course most newer stuff about has to go to the dealership with all the computer stuff on them.
