Ours on the porch will occasionally let out some smoke early in the fire if it’s windy, once it’s burning good we never have smoke

My customer wanted a way to incorporate the pit but not make it 100% permanent, we decided on a flat top to set the grill on just in case he ever wants to replace it!
Edit: didn’t read your post properly, thought you were talking about adding a smoker!
