4Runner hitch bolts

Does anyone know where to buy bolts to mount the hitch. Bolts to fit the welded on nuts in the frame. Toyota dealer said they only sell the whole hitch.

Have you used a part schematic with your VIN number? They probably have a Toyota part number for the bolt. I am sure it is just a standard metric bolt though, if you have a bolt shop close by you may be able to try out a few, be sure to get the correct grade.

I found a part number. I found a bolt at a bolt place but Toyota has a taper to their bolts so normal metric doesn’t work.

Bummer it is a specialty bolt, should be able to order online with a part number. I hear Partsouq ships quick. I normally use Camelback Toyota out of Scottsdale for my parts.

Amazon has them, as well as some dealerships that sell online. When you factor in shipping, price comes out about the same.

Edited to add: I’d probably try another Toyota dealer if you have one close to you. Seems that at least some of them (those selling online) sell individual bolts.

Found another dealer. Ordered 2 to try out. If that doesn’t work then looks like a visit to some salvage yards.
