Mine is lower back pain caused by arthritis, disc that are out, etc.

Been getting much worse that last 6 months.

Doc has me only taking it at night starting out at 300 and can go up to 900 if needed.

Dang I was told not to enjoy my 1 beer a day....

I took the first one abut 30 minutes ago and getting sleepy.

I also get 2 shots this morning.

Next is a MRI to see what is next.

    Thanks for all the input.

This is a safe med and this is a low dose, give it a try. Might make you drowsy at first.
      Good Luck!

My wife was on it with limited success. She's be prescribed Lyrica now, it really hasn't improved her nerve pain. Hopefully you will have better luck.

I was prescribed it after my wreck to "help" with the nerve pain in my foot and back post surgery. Didn't really do much, I ended up having to take a hydrocodone eventually to help with the pain.

I was prescribed 600 mg twice a day for sciatic pain . When I had to get my dl out because I couldn’t remember my address I stopped taking it . It didn’t do much for the pain and stopping involved some withdrawal issues. Physical therapy has been much more effective. I do miss the bizarre dreams a little. Just kidding but they were entertaining!

After spending decades with back pain and trying everything and going to every kind of doctor for it I finally got into a pain management program. Gabapentin was godsend. Started low dose and upped it as the years went by. Now I have nephropathy and am in the 2400mg range. Sometime 3200mg. Gabapentin is a non-scheduled drug.

My wife has been taking it for 20 or so years . It works very well . She has severe nerve damage in her left leg . 3 toes and inside her leg is partially paralyzed.

A normal dosage for gabapentin would be 300 mg three times a day. Maximum dose is 3600 mg per day
It’s actually a old seizure med.

Better just to stay high on pot all the time huh?

From the way the Dr told us it doesn't make the pain go away it tricks your brain to thinking you don't hurt.

I take one 800mg tab of this 3 times a day for back and nerve pain. It works but once your body is use to it, you will have to have the dosage increased or switch to something else.
