Congrats, I have pellet and stick burner. I use both. Gotta cook my brisket on the stick burner, haven’t been able to get that bark with the pellet. Pellet does great ribs, and smoked turkey. Still learning my pellet grill.

Invite everybody over to show off your new grill and for a sampling, right after they clean up the yard.

I agree with this! I actually sold my traeger after getting my new stick burner. May take longer to get rolling, but no substitute for flavor!

They are great for ease of use for sure though.

Congratulations, first on raising a great son who knows how to treat his dad right, and second on your new grill. Now go grill that boy a big steak!

Did some burgers on it yesterday. They came out great! This coming weekend I plan on doing a pork butt. I have one question though. Do you empty the unused pellets after each use? Someone told me that if it sits for a bit, the pellets will clog up from humidity. I'll probably use it maybe once a week, but probably more like every other week.

Are you sure the $3.00 check was the stimulus check? I received a $3.00 last week but I think it came from SSA.

The $3 was my tax refund from the IRS.

                        1. Go to pitboss web site and register the grill. They have a ton of good recipes on there.

                        2. Get you a waterproof cover for it, will keep your hopper dry so you don’t have to empty it. If your pellets get damp, you will have trouble. I leave mine full, mesquite is my favorite.

                        3. Get some grill mats, it will help keep your grates clean. The mats are easy to wash and reuse. Wally world sells them.

                        4. I made 5 lbs. of meatloaf last week on my pitboss, it was outstanding.

Be sure and have a handheld vacuum to clean the fire pot before use, read the instructions, and enjoy.

Thanks. We got the cover for it. Also, there is a pull out pan to dump the ashes out. Do I still need to vacuum it each time?

Yup, Buckshot gave some good info there.

I actually don't have a cover and leave the pellets in mine all the time and it is out in the weather. I use it a similar amount to what you do and it is fine. I do have to say that some pellets do better than others. I have become a huge fan of the Bear Mountain pellets. Great smoke and never have issues leaving in the bin.

I have a PitBoss 820 and not sure what yours looks like inside. If that pull out pan is more of a drip catch/flame tent, you might still need to get inside to clean the pot. It is where the auger pushes the pellets into and has an electric igniter. It can get caked with soot and affect your temps being stable
