Will 1 day really put a dent in the population?

Curious how big the property is your talking about. My experience is your doing more harm than good running dogs. Trapping is the only way to control the population. Not only are you running the hogs but also every deer out of the country. Not to mention if at night busting Turks off the roost. Everything will come back eventually it’s just a lot of commotion for no real benefit.

It's only 930 acres and it's high fenced. Maybe wouldn't get every hog, but I'd bet we'd get a good percentage.

Complete opposite of experience. But I’m fairly new to this. Only have 15 years. Have hunted places as big as 27k acres and as small as 300 (net wired). Some full of exotics, a few places with released deer.

Not sure how dogs on the ground would bother turkeys on a roost? Have yet to see that. Not saying it doesn’t happen, just haven’t experienced or even heard of that until now.
Trashy dogs will chase a deer. I admit that. But not all dogs are trashy. And mine dang sure won’t, nor the guys I hunt with.

As far as trapping being most effective? Even I have to admit, guys with thermal and night vision put the worst hurting on them. When you can see them of course.

          Just my limited experience.

Apparently what you really need is a hit French model in a bikini. I can lend my services as a talent spotter.

Let me know. I have dogs that will walk through deer. We routinely hunt high fences and have for the last 15 years. I only have 1 cur dog now, but my cousin took all my old dogs and is keeping them going. We can catch 30-40 hogs a weekend on tournaments. Shoot me a pm.

I have been catching hogs with dogs since the 90's. I promise you that good dogs have no negative affect on deer. Do you think deer leave the country every time a coyote or stray dog passes through? Also trapping has proven to be ineffective. It works great the first time or two but hogs get wise to traps pretty quick. Once they do they never enter a trap. Nearly every place we hunt has a baited hog trap on it. They call me because they have quit working. In a low fence situation hogs will relocate hogs fairly quick while the rest of the animals will stay put.

I have a buddy in Seguin I can ask, depending on where you are. He’s done it for years, if you’d like his info shoot me a PM.
