The fish are biting, and there's hogs to be kill-t. Gotta go!

I have the non adjustable one and it was a godsend on all the stuff around the edges. That stuff that was on the top back was tough to get to still. I need to look into that .

100 qt yeti cooler works pretty good to stand on when working on lifted trucks

How many miles on your 7.3? Mine is around 210k. So far in the last few months I am down a coolant reservoir, water pump, and injector cups. I have always heard these engines will go to 500k with few problems, however, my experience does not track that. And I am pretty meticulous on the maintenance. Becoming a money pit. Beginning to believe I should make someone else a happiest day.

Best of luck on your repair.

I just did my 2003 7.3L turbo & pedestal o-rings, changed original up pipes to bellows up pipes, EBPV delete, CAC boots. I did it after work & during good weather. Took me 2 weeks. A trick for you on the turbo to up pipe wye clamp. Air chisel after nut is loose. I wasted several hours before a buddy suggested air chisel. About a 1 second burst & it was off with no damage. And Kroil oil is your friend. And a top side creeper is your friend also. Wife handing you beers is your friend also.
Lots of videos out there but I think this one was the most helpful & well done.

Another fun one is the oil cooler o-rings. If you like gettin oily while laying on your belly in the engine bay, then you will love doing it while laying on your back under the truck! LOL.

got rid of my 7.3L at 260k. It was "100 dollering" me to death.

Mine has 325k and I've had very few problems. She's been my daily driver for 20 years, and I'm hard on her.

I did my cooler last year. It is a mess. Got to where I had to plug it in at night to keep it warm so it wouldn't leak oil at startup. Once it warmed up it wouldn't leak.

I was at 308K and 19 years before I finally said enough was enough The motor was still strong but everything around it was failing. After about $5-6K in repairs overa years time and another $3k looming I gave her up for the Tundra I'm driving now. Don't miss the worry on those long 10 hour roundtrips to the lease at all but I loved that ol truck.

You sure its that and not the big plug on the back of the head? or block? I think there is 1 on each corner. Mine did exactly what you are describing and it was that. But you may can tell better since you have looked at it for sure where the oil is coming from.

I spent all morning Saturday pressure washing 300k+ miles of oil off the truck. now I'll know for sure where its coming from. I'm fairly certain the Turbo is the culprit, because the severity of the leak is relative to how hard I drive it.

Hope you find it and get it done brother. There's fish to be caught right now.
