I think these types of people stopped coming over a long time ago. We used to leave food and water too. But the courtesy of the travelers of 20 years ago was not extended to todays groups. Entirely different kind of folks.

About 10 years ago I was filling up a tailgate feeder in BFE Webb county and had a couple of guys try sneaking up and dragging me off the back of the truck, my dog jumped out the window after them, but I almost had to stab one in the face with my knife before the dog lit in to them
They where going to kick my butt , steal the truck and be in Houston before I would be able to walk to a phone

There are a lot of complacent GOP congressional members ok with this too.

Trump was hated for his stance on immigration and actual action.
Things have gone back to the old normal and the ranting of many GOP.
Yet they fought him on the wall and would not support his efforts a 100%.

We have had Republican Governors since GW Bush.

Yep. Can’t get displacent in the brush country. I keep telling this to the guys I hunt with now. They’ve been hunting in the hill country all their lives and never in S. Texas. They had a bad habit of leaving their side by sides unattended with their AR-15s in them while they were walking around their pens looking at the ground for arrow heads.

Before you knew it they would be 75 yards from their weapons with keys in vehicles and loaded fire arms. After all the pics and a couple live interactions with illegals they no longer bring their AR with them and just carry a side arm and remove keys when ever they get out like second nature.

That's actually where it starts getting bad...once they cross, they are loaded up for the journey on foot & head north w/ backpack provisions. It's when they start running low is the problem & getting past the 70mi line is a pretty big goal.

I've been on the same lease for 16 years & have never had any problems w/ illegals in all that time...camp has been broken into twice by local thugs. Took anything of pawn value & didn't touch the food / water.

I stand corrected. Makes sense though. Who wouldn’t want to come to this country With the amount of handouts we give out. I guess if you aren’t willing to work for that then who cares about other people stuff along the way to. It’s been 20 years since I’ve dealt with it on our property (sold it). Appreciate the knowledge.

On a side note: I could never find fault in a man coming who respects the people’s things on the way, works hard to make an honest living, and tries to build a better life for his family. But that’s obviously not who we are talking about.

I remember this time too. My dad would often give them a ride to Falfurrias and sometimes my uncle would give them work on our ranch. Cause that’s what they really wanted was work. Now most of them just want the benifits of living of a rapidly evolving socialist government. It’s been a long time since I have come across one looking for work. Now they’re just looking for a ride to Houston.

I have had plenty of positive experiences with walkers, most are super friendly, helpful , appreciate your help or advice, can’t be bitter about someone trying,
