Lost a good friend of mine, Karl was always the voice of reason in bad times and I helped get him into contracting, First gig was Basra, Iraq where he quickly made Team Lead and I didnt see him for a while. We had a brief opportunity to work together on gig in Jordan. He then moved on to bigger operations on the African continent where he did 4 tours.

I remember getting a call from another friend about how Karl had came home to his Winery and found out she had been cheating on him with a local DPS Officer. Karl called his insurance agent about some legalities then when out and burned his whole place down, with no intentions of claiming insurance he beat his wife out of everything as it went up in smoke, he then reached out and got another contract oconus. Several days later he was found in a hotel in Burnet, the corner ruled it a self inflicted gunshot wound from a m4 that was found in the room close by him.

One of my favorite memories of him was Basra Iraq running around wearing a green kilt and his Action figure therapy **** with a notable sayin on it (I will butt***x your soul )
