Our prairie rattlers are about half the size of your diamondbacks and not near as aggressive.
We relocate all we find if possible. Been known to stop and get them out of the highway on the way to the ranch.
These 2 were in the driveway last spring, they found a new home up away from the meadows in the rocks.
The biggest prairie rattler we have caught is a couple of 58 inchers.

Every snake is different though. Some are more likely to strike than others. I've seen mean rattlesnakes in all varieties except for timber rattlesnakes. Never seen one that was aggressive. I've handled all of em. Been bit twice by prairies.

Got my two biggest from that county. And a month apart from the same ranch, at opposite ends of it.
What part of the county are you in?
