How many pounds did it feel like to you when you set it up for the trophy pics?

      Nice trap!

Good hog. He won’t make 300, but most don’t. I wish I had a dollar for every 300 lber that shrunk to 230-250 when we put them on a scale.

I’m with you. 225, no more.

With a couple of 40 lb sacks of corn on his back he’d be right there.

There's only one real way to tell. Everything else is speculation.

A key dimension needed, is how many feet/inches back did the guys kneel, to make the hog look larger? Also, can you use a scope that big when you shot a hog in a trap, not trying to be funny just curious if that is even possible.

Yeah I was wondering about the scope too. Why didn’t he just use a pistol?

Dang you guys are a tough crowd.

Trapping is a form of hunting and getting an old boar like this in a trap is an accomplishment making this a trophy of sorts imo.
Op said close to Houston so a suppressed rifle is a good option imo. Perhaps he wanted to see how a biggin would soak up some 223 lead.

To the ops question, they are so hard to guess, I'll go 225 perhaps a tad more.
