    FYI: Seresto Flea/Tick Collars

Reports are that the Flea and Tick collar made by Seresto has been linked to almost 1700 dog deaths they supposedly last up to 8 months. I have had one on my Rottie for over a year and honestly, he is off his feed and not as active as he has been. The collar is off and will not go back on. If you use one, you might want to rethink it's use.

    I'm not surprised................
A regular bath, with a mild solution of Orange Oil.... ( And, I do mean MILD)...
Too strong, may burn their skin............
Will keep fleas and ticks, off your dog.... Besides, they'll smell great...........

You dont use any other flea preventative? Where do you live? How often do you bathe? And how much is "mild"?

Both, my Weimaraner and small chihuahua/dachshund are 13yo, and have seresto collars on for 8yrs now. My dad turned me on to these collars, his dog is 18yo! We have not had any issues so far.

some speculation that the issues are actually related to cheap knock off versions sold online. if you have a reputable source then probably not as big a worry.

Tractor Supply insecticide cattle ear tags cut in half on the collar....only thing we have used for years.

I've lived in Parker County, Eastland County, and Tarrant......
I try to shower, every day.... But give the dog a bath, every couple weeks..
By "mild".... I bathed a 90lb German Shepard in a #9 wash tub...
With about a cap full of orange oil..... Even that, might be a bit strong
for a smaller animal.... You'll have to pretty much judge amounts,
for yourself.... Just be careful.....(Read directions)
Insects, (of all kinds), don't like citrus. So, as long as your dog smells
like oranges....I've never had a problem with fleas or ticks.... I'm
not saying, you won't get the occasional one... But orange oil, works
              for me...
I even spray it in my house.....A bit stronger.... But, too strong, it can
take the paint off your base boards... LOL..........good luck......
