Beautiful water and scenery but whats that big ugly thing paddling that kayak?

Went to Lava Beds in N. California and just check into this weeks home outside Yosemite. Lava beds had a bunch of caves and we were not prepared. We would go in maybe 200 yards and didnt feel comfortable with limited lighting. Also went to area that had Indian carvings.

Interesting Indian cave carvings, in the last pic I do believe that is a Sasquatch right there in the middle. Sure has Big Feet! Really enjoying your pics, travel safe.

The land of the Modoc People - Klamath to the North - western tribes. Unreal history thru the region and it is one of the last settled areas of the USA - since the East was settled first.

Geologic formation - in the PACNORWEST is simply unreal. Flying from San Diego to Seattle - inland - the volcanoes - lesser - around the known greater formations - thousands.

Been in Yosemite last few days hiking. Did about 10 yesterday with a 3000 ft elevation change. We have been going non-stop. Kinda beat up and we have done nothing today besides walk to go eat breakfast.

I have been hearing reports that all national parks in California are closing due to fires and potential for fires. Have you folks experiance any park closures?

Pedernal- no fires in Parks we have gone to. We did goto a casino Lake Tahoe the other day and when we came out could not see sun. Fires are bad Wyoming, Utah, Oregon, California. We had a long commute every day going to Glacier because we had to go around an active fire. We have a phone ap that we check daily like weather. From talking to folks its every year from July-October.

Man that is incredible!! What a journey! Y'all are packin' in some serious miles and memories in this trip. Sure glad you made the effort to take the rest of us along with you! Your pics are incredible...

Those old Redwoods - some of the Indian Reservations thru there - have them preserved - in reverence. The passes around Tahoe, full of German Browns and Rainbows. The Browns were stocked in the 50s - and they thrive to this day. Not sure since I left the region, if they stocked anymore......my thought is.......the Sierra Club Tree Huggers - went sideways with non native stock - so those RANGE ROVER FLY FISHERMEN, can smoke FAGS and tip the mid day COCKtail before, hitting the stream again, pursuing PURENESS.

Another world up there - you are doing it right - laying low and taking it all in. The people screw things up - judgemental is an understatement.
