I work for United Airlines as a ramp agent. And this is something I always hope to never happen to any of the planes I happened to work on.
Where do you work, I'm at IAH for United also.

        That engine was still running
Fuel leak on the outside blew the cowling off

Wow, that could have been really tragic.

Could you imagine sitting on that blue cooler drinking a cold beer when them engine parts come down?

Glen I am glad to hear your niece is OK

That would make me reconsider flying for a while. Wonder how many hopped on another plane and tried to get to Hawaii?

Nope. I drink my beer inside when there is snow on the ground.

I’d be thinking “OK, right about now is when I usually wake up. Man, this dream feels real …”

Better chance of getting killed driving to the HEB than flying.

That's some scary stuff and am thankful the pilots were able to get everyone back on the ground safely. Makes you think twice about flying but how else you going to get to Hawaii that fast?

The crazy thing is those engine manufacturers will put an engine on a stand, get it running, and have explosives lining the inside of the cowling to test/make sure this type of event doesn’t happen.
