The whataburger next to my fire station opened up about 2 hours ago and the line is at least 50 cars long.....pure stupidity. I guess they have not heard that gas is hard to come by

retrieverman, I heard a couple of others at work say they got gas there- I never have so I don't think about them. The folks on this site are awesome! I have had several reach out with the offer to bring me gas. Right now I have more than enough to get me back to town to work tomorrow and have the generator full with one 5 gallon can left to put in tomorrow morning. I also found out a little secret from the local Chevron jobber GM- sometimes stations that have bags over the pump handles to indicate they are out may not really be out. Going to check early in the morning.

Well, got past the gasoline shortage crisis. We were down to the bottom of the generator tank when I found gas and got back home to keep the generator going. Thanks for everyone's offers of help.

Down here in the RGV the lines were crazy long and most stations were empty. I was able to get some early morning or late at night.

The gasoline issues in San Antonio and areas south are partially due to the ethanol plants shutting down due to cold weather. We have gas at all our terminals but no ethanol to put in it so we cant sell it. We are expecting their trucks to start delivering again today or tomorrow.

and we had a few days of cold weather.

Just imagine if something really bad happened.

Adding ethanol to gasoline, another dumb*** green deal that makes no sense at all.

yes sir, I tell people this all the time. We are one crisis away from disaster.

All of the JIT warehousing is really gonna bite the US one of these days.
It is bad when factories/manufacturers wait on a certain number of parts orders to run production.

Cities tax companies for keeping spare parts on inventory causing companies to diminish their readiness for upsets.

It's all gonna add up to high misery index some day.

Bean counters will destroy the US from within.

If China was to strike first and fast with continuance, the US would not be ready.

                        Exactly......

All this stress, angst, worry, fear, and monetary damage was caused by cold air......not a violent hurricane, a powerful tornado or tornadoes or even an earth quake.....

Imagine if some wacko group detonated a dirty bomb in the middle of DFW, Houston, Austin, and Sam Antonio simultaneously.

There is probably some terrorist group out there checking a box on this event as a future opportunity to wreak havoc.

Prayers spoken for everyone affected by this storm.

Store what you use and use what you store.

                        Preppers gonna Prep.
