Will we lose whitetail in the Hill Country?

I have to giggle at this thread having watched whitetails swim across a river in negative temps, shake off and start feeding.

Yes you will lose some whitetail. We have been in the beginnings of what could be a severe drought since last spring, winter forbs and browse non existent this year, acorn crop minimal year and way too many mouths to feed.

You won’t lose any healthy whitetail. You don’t even start seeing their ribs until you get them hooked on corn.
