Thanks guys! Sure hope to see the same tomorrow.

These guys are up and moving about. Jumping around and staying active. Best thing for them right now.

Young axis seem to be ok.

Big thing tonight will be what precipitation we actually get. A good dusting of snow will be best. If we get sleet and rain then they will freeze to death. Praying for snow!

My neighbor lost 3 young axis and 6-8 black buck that he’s found so far.
He’s worried about freezing rain tonight

When you shoot an animal, there is a 100% chance it will die, this weather has better odds of survival. Why would we lose money by letting people shoot our top end trophies for a loss, when most of the time, those mature animals are the ones that survive just fine. Plus, how often has the weather been exactly correct on a 10 day forecast? We have several African animals up in the panhandle and if we killed them all half price every time they said it was going to get cold, we wouldn’t have any animals left. Death loss happens and we all know that when buying animals. This kind of weather doesn’t come often at all, it sucks, but is part of it.

Still on a positive note here! Blackbuck running around and only found one little guy bedded. He jumped up quick and ran away. I feel lucky. Putting out 3 bales of alfalfa and 200 pounds of corn a day. They have consumed every bit of it. Protein feeder on one side isn’t getting touched but on the other side 2000#s gone in 5 days. Refilling today.

Keep doing what you are doing Antlers! Glad to hear the herd is hanging in there. I am so over this weather. We are fighting to keep our pool, grotto, hot tub and waterfall from freezing up and costing us a fortune. Good Times.

Spa froze up for us. Ranch house had a busted pipe and flooded the kitchen/living room as well. Been so focused on the animals it’s hard to hit every priority. Will update tomorrow hopefully with more good news on these critters.

Another successful night. Got a little worried on the Blackbuck herd. All of their heads were down when I found them. They popped right up though once I got out of the truck. Many are getting used to me and just hanging out until I put alfalfa out.
