Any idea as to the reason of a couple of models of Marlin lever action rifles (maybe others as I haven't checked) going up in value so much? The Marlin 1895 Dark in all the calibers they offered are selling on Gun Broker for at least $2200, some upwards $2800. I had one last year I bought new for $760.00 and decided to sell it to fund another gun. Should've kept it of course, but had no idea they would sell for less than a year later.
Another model is the 336SS stainless. I have one of these and was surprised to find that have increased in value as well. They are selling for at least $1300 and as much as $1800 and they don't even need to be JM stamped. The 336 blued models are bringing considerably less, 5 to 8 hundred.
I do know Marlin has sold to Ruger but wondering what has driven the values up so on these?
