Marlin lever action (a couple models) values increasing?

Any idea as to the reason of a couple of models of Marlin lever action rifles (maybe others as I haven't checked) going up in value so much? The Marlin 1895 Dark in all the calibers they offered are selling on Gun Broker for at least $2200, some upwards $2800. I had one last year I bought new for $760.00 and decided to sell it to fund another gun. Should've kept it of course, but had no idea they would sell for less than a year later.

Another model is the 336SS stainless. I have one of these and was surprised to find that have increased in value as well. They are selling for at least $1300 and as much as $1800 and they don't even need to be JM stamped. The 336 blued models are bringing considerably less, 5 to 8 hundred.
I do know Marlin has sold to Ruger but wondering what has driven the values up so on these?

Ruger owns them now. Not sure why the price is going through the roof but it seems like all Marlins are selling well right now. Ruger will probably not bring the whole Marlin line back hopefully they make at least a few of the lever guns.

Just hold on, its just panic buying. Those rust bucket darks ain’t worth over $600 and Ruger will get it all straight

Ruger bought Marlin from Remington. Ruger now has possession of all of the machinery but the intellectual property is tied up in bankruptcy court. I'm trying to get information on a gun my dad had when he passed away last year. I wish i hadn't waited so long.
