    What about the nilgae

I looked for the weather down south but never found a real forecast. Are the nilgae gonna take a big hit. I know they are not very cold tolerant.

They will be fine. Animals have a much different way of handing this.

I’m curious to see what the end of next week looks like. Little talk I’ve heard is people with exotics are not looking forward to the next 96hrs

89 we lost a few, but were back to hunting in late February

I remember flying a helicopter survey south of Kingsville back in the 90s after a prolonged cold snap. Saw many dead nilgai that didn't survive it.

I don't know much about Nilgai but Blackbuck will make you think otherwise.

Blackbuck are about like dorper sheep though, just walk around looking for a place to die.

                  Not those lol.

I bet a bunch lose ears at a minimum if it gets too cold.

Guide on a ranch I hunted said last time the temp got in the 20s, the Nilgai just stood there. You could almost walk up to them. This animal does not do well in the cold.

I read that in 1972-1973 a unusually cold winter wiped out nearly half of the population!

Gonna have some die. What really affects them if the ground is icy for more than a day or two

I moved to Houston and started a new job in 1990. I heard about the amazing freeze of 1989. Is this current weather situation as bad the same or worse is 1989?
