Salt on sidewalk?

Ok it was super Icey @ my mother in law has sidewalk slippery
So I drove into town for rock salt, now it’s thawed out and raining, but will be 10 in the morning, question wait and drive back over, or can I put it on now

How much is it raining? If it’s enough to dissolve the salt and runoff it won’t do any good. Salted my drive last night and even with 1/10” glaze of ice from drizzle/fog it’s about 75% there.

It’s probably raining/ sleeting to hard the ground is melting every thing, fairly quickly right now

Cold enough to freeze the trees and windows probably have to trek over tonight
