    MicroSoft Office Alertative

Looking for an alternative to MicroSoft Office. I dont want to have to pay a year subscription and I dont like the new version of Outlook. I mainly use, Outlook, Word, Excel and Publisher. Any info from the business guys would be awesome.

    Thanks

Google is the next best thing. It's browser based and functions pretty much the same way.

Google Docs (word), Google Sheets (excel), etc

Pick your poison... One thing I found out, is if you buy a new computer directly from a manufacturer (in my case Lenovo), they can install MS Office Professional or Home on it and you can pay a one time fee that is part of the price of the computer. There is no recurring yearly/monthly fee. A consumer cannot purchase the software any longer but a manufacturer can... That's what we started to do.

I use openoffice, from Apache. It is free, and you don't store you data on Google.

A little clunky, when compared to MS Office, but you can do nearly everything you can do with MS office.

The official home page of the Apache OpenOffice open source project, home of OpenOffice Writer, Calc, Impress, Draw and Base.

            Travis,
Here's the link where you can add it to a Lenovo laptop or desktop... This is Office Professional that includes everything. There are lesser licenses on their site... I'm sure other manufacturers have the same deal...

I second OpenOffice. It's not as polished but gets the job done.
Google is the best, honestly, if you don't mind supporting Google.

I third Open Office. Very usable replacement for Microsoft Office.

If work didn't pay for my MS Office subscription, I would get OpenOffice.

No pop ups for me in the 4 years or more I've been using it. It's free open source software
