Find a hotel within your budget near Market Square and have a good time.
You won't have to get in your car to drive anywhere unless you want to.
You will run out of time before you run out of things to do.
Uber is very easy to use in the area.
Unless your already Christmas shopping for Aunt Mildred don't bother going to Old Town Spring.
One last thing:
DO NOT LEAVE ANYTHING INSIDE YOUR VEHICLE YOU VALUE.
As mentioned, "Spring" covers a LARGE area of the northwest side of the greater Houston area... for instance if you are coming to "Spring" along the HWY 249 corridor, it is a LOOONG way to "Spring" along the I-45 corridor and much different atmospheres in both areas, and there's lots of ground in between...
Maybe give us an idea of the locale you will need to focus on??
For instance, most eateries suggested are around the I-45 corridor... If you will be around the HWY 249 corridor, and you want seafood, sushi or other really nice exotic dishes, I'd suggest the Redfish Grill and when you get there, tell them you want to dine "upstairs"... Thank me later... IF you go there, save room for dessert and get their bread pudding... the owner makes it herself... This place is NO CHAIN... If you are a sushi roll type person or shashimi person, they serve some of the best on the planet. If you are not, don't let that spook you from their menu. It is broad and someone can find something very good to eat there no matter their taste... One of my favorites is the stuffed flounder, but only after sharing 2 or 3 sushi rolls with the rest of the table...
There’s a Hilton and a Hampton on the NE corner of the Hardy and I-45 that are very nice. That puts you within close proximity to both The Woodlands and Spring.
Lots of good recommendations here.
Venture a little north to Conroe and visit Honor Cafe for either breakfast or lunch. It’s a neat spot that focuses on supporting our troops: http://www.honorcafe.us/.
Thanks, all, for the feedback and especially the location/personal safety advice I would not otherwise have known.
Some very good food suggestions, my only regret is that I won’t have time to try them all.
Staying north of 99 is great advice. As mentioned earlier we have 3 hotels here at Springwoods Village (Full service Marriott, Courtyard and Residence Inn) with a couple food options very close by (Common Bond and Island Grill). You also have ease of access to I45 and the Grand Pkwy for travel.
Cork Screw for BBQ in Spring and a good choice for anything is Woodsons down on 99 and Brenham woods.
Looks like its only 100-110$ for the Full service Marriot in a couple weeks
I don't get anything promoting this by any means its just a lot of people have no idea the district is here since there is not much of a highway frontage presence even though we have Exxon's world headquarters, HPI, ABS and soon to be HPe's world headquarters.
