Bow season really hasn't been bow season since they let the arrow guns in. I still think you should have to draw, no locking devices, didn't have issue with the disability waiver to use crossbow and wouldn't have had problem with having an elderly age restriction say anyone over 65 could use one.

Sound like one of the old original "green screen" majority from several years back.
Just the mention of a crossbow back then would get an angry response and threats of getting banned from the forum.

I noticed in the latest statewide hunting proclamation this was struck out
[(11) Pre-charged pneumatic — An air gun or arrow gun for which the propellant is supplied or introduced by means of a source that is physically separate from the air gun or arrow gun.]

all you have to do is go hang out at the local processor... back in the day i had to call them during bow season to drop off a deer ... not any more!

On public land I don't see more hunters, its the same guys. What I do see is crossbows and fewer deer, like way fewer, I can only assume its because of the effectiveness and range of the legal weapons now.

well maybe the animal activists are , but they're coming after the farmers too ... not just the hunters

Yep, since they allowed front and rear sights (even magnified and/or electronic), mechanical arrow rests, collapsible broad-heads, pulley systems that allow the draw weight to be cut in half or more at full draw, releases that pull like firearms triggers with your fingers never touching the string.... it just hasn’t been the same.

I think it needs to be traditional only. Get rid of all those crutches of modern bows and let’s get back to real archery.

Either that or let’s allow everyone who uses a hunting tool that receives its energy from torquing limbs and fires a bolt or arrow projectile to be in the same category.

I don’t own and have never fired a crossbow. I sure seems like bow season however, when I am using my compound with a trigger release even with I know that some other guy is using a traditional long bow and another is using a crossbow....

Reread it then. There was some complaining. And yes they are coming after all hunting. This administration will open that door wide open.
