So I would like to either plan a Spring Black Bear hunt or book an outfitter. I'm literally starting at step zero, know nothing about it. I did look into an outfitter in Alaska, which would be REALLY cool, but it looks like it is going to run in the range of $25K to do that hunt. While it isn't out of the question, I'm kind of looking around to see other options.

I used Big Tine Adventures in northern Alberta....3 of us went and we all shot P&Y bears. There is always the chance for a Booner and they have killed a several over 20" with the chance for color phase as well. When we went a couple years ago it was $5500 plus $1000 if you wanted a 2nd bear. If I wanted a 2nd bear I would definitely be heading his direction again.

My son and I went with
in 2018.
It's in Northern BC and is spot and stalk only(I think all of BC is). We did lots of riding and glassing, saw several bears every day and my son ended up getting 2, 6 ft+ bears. We did it with a rifle but closed the distance within bow range of plenty. Beautiful country with lots of bears!

Do you want a hunt over bait or float/river hunt ?
I nice float trip in British Columbia should be $3,500 - $4,500 based on past experience.
Look and see if you can find an outfitter out of Terrace B.C. - he took over the guide area where we hunted.Last edited by wellingtontx; 01-25-2021, 04:12 PM.
