Long shot-has anyone converted 2wd to 4wd?

Its a long shot but never know. I have a project truck, 1981 F-350 dually regular cab, 2wd. Has anyone here converted one of these to 4wd? I think I remember reading this was relatively easy with a donor truck, I want to say it was pretty close to being a bolt in swap. I will be researching it but hoping to find out more here

There are(were) several threads on Pirate4x4.com with conversions.

I'm going to convert my '97 F350 DRW to a 4x4 Cummins. 4x4 wasn't available in '97 on an F350 Dually.

There is some fabrication and welding involved.
