Howdy everyone, I found some old threads that discussed this but wanted to ask again in case anything has changed. I have a roofing company that is replacing my roof. On the estimate they choose GAF shingles, but also offer CertainTeed. He said I can choose whichever I want. We plan on being here for at least 10 more years, just wanted to see which shingle you all recommend? Thanks in advance.

Certainteed over GAF all day long. Even better Atlas. Compare warranties... I’ve owned a roofing company for decades and the ONLY warranty claims I’ve ever had to replace are GAF. Certainteed does make a good product though...Get an Atlas roof with the Signature Select warranty. Covers materials AND labor. Atlas even warranties algae(dark streaks on roof) for the full length of the warranty as opposed to everyone else at 12 years.

Are you thinking about the GAF Timberline HDZ vs CertainTeed Landmark or 3-tab?

Damage in that area was bad enough Farmers was automatically approving claims in the zip code. I could have had my customer file the malarkey roof but it didn’t need it.
