Quick trip after work yesterday before the front.

Got out yesterday after work at Ray Roberts. Size was not great bit fish were biting. stayed till the moon came up. Bite stopped after dark. Most fish were 6 to 12 ft deep and short striking (lot of missed hook sets).

Saw a bald eagle on our way out!

Prayers up for David Benson with Big Dave’s crappie guide service on Lake Palestine. I was told yesterday he’s in the hospital on a ventilator battling Covid. I’m so sick of this nasty virus.

Made it to D’Arbonne today! Not the plan we figured but I’m here none the less! Tried our new Livescope rig out today and I couldn’t find my jig like I can on the trolling motor. Not sure if I want to mess with it tomorrow or fish the way we have for years and start back practicing on the new rig Sunday.

Just need to improve on it tomorrow!! Then start prefishing for the Expo Sunday.

Crappie Masters just posted the results. They finished in 2nd place, less than .3 pounds from the lead. Congratulations Todd and Clay.

Thanks y’all! Super happy with runner up in this field! Yesterday was tough. Couldn’t get the quality bites we needed. D’Arbonne is a fun lake though. Probably caught 50-75 a day being picky. We casted fo fish at 30/40 foot mostly. Your not getting on top of those fish. There and Grenada are the spookiest fish I’ve ever seen. Late for launch at day one of practice at fhe crappie expo already! Didn’t get over here till 10 last night and it was nearly one when I got in bed!
