    Snake Boot Recommendations

Looking for a reasonably priced pair of snake boots (around $100). Anybody have any recommendations in that price range or is that wishful thinking on my part?

What are the pros/cons of the zip ups? Am guessing ease of on and off? Are they as comfortable as the lace ups?

Also seem to remember a boot thread not too long ago about a boot that had laces and zippers. You laced them up to fit then used the zipper for ease of on and off. Anybody with info on those?

I hate to say this, but I've got the Smart syndrome.

I'll write up the rest of the story in a few minutes ... but this part applies here.
I just got back from trying on some snake boots at BPS. I tried the Red Head zippered boots and the Rocky zippered. About the only part of my body that's in reasonably good shape are my calves ... not Lance Clouse "in shape", but not fat. I had trouble zipping these boots all the way up. Unless you've got CHICKEN legs, you ain't wearin' either of these brands!

Seem to remember that thread but don't remember the Smart "answer" to big calf syndrome. What was the answer for those of us gifted with non Chicken legs?

Make sure they are slip on(zippers malfunction) and make sure the back of the boot is expandable in the calf area!

I bought and tried the Irish Setter Shadow Trek Viper 825 with an extra large calf.....scroll down to them on this page... http://www.snakeboots.com/

They have a 18-18.5" calf...unfortunately for me they are still a little small. They are on their way back now. I will be wearing gaiters until I can find something else.
