Shot a big raccoon yesterday evening with the .17HMR using CCI 20 grain Gamepoint. He was climbing out of a well on top of an old well house. I shot him and he fell back in it. I would have got him and got a picture but I couldn't find a way to get up there and get him out. He was probably a 25+ pound raccoon. I thought he was a fat porcupine when I first saw him.

Checked traps just after I got home from work... nothing. Just after dark I rode out to throw out corn so maybe something other than birds could have something to eat. Had one barely caught by the fingertips.
