No deer before license delivered in mail?

My son has hunted hard in Oklahoma this year and come up empty. His Oklahoma season is over because we can't get back up there.

We were offered the opportunity to hunt this weekend in TX, so we purchased a license online.

Well... I didn't even think about the license not arriving in the mail in time to have the tags. In Oklahoma you can hunt with just the printed purchase receipt. We've been doing that for 12 years and this is our first time to hunt back in TX.

Are we sunk? Are there any options like getting one printed somewhere?

Should have gone to Academy or something. Wasn't thinking.

Not sure about hunting but I’ve fished with the printed copy of my license and GW was fine with that.

Go to Walmart or academy and them re-print it. I think it's like $10. You definitely need the tags here in Texas if he shoots one.

I believe you have to go to TPWD to get a replacement license. I'm afraid you are screwed, sorry.

Any license vendor can make a replacement. I ordered my daughter’s online in Oct and still haven’t received it.

Walmart did a re-issue for me a couple of years ago.

Get the TPWD app. The Outdoor Annual app to be exact. Not sure how long it took but my license shows up on it.

If you have paid for a license, any place that sells licenses, will have record of it. I thought I lost my fishing license about three years ago. They told me at Wal Mart, they could print me another one. I think there was a fee to do so.

The good thing is we no longer need to be in possession of our actual license to hunt and fish in Texas as long as you can show it on the App. That’s great for fishing or dove hunting but anything that requires a tag it still needs to be with you. Like others said, as long as they have record of the purchase you can have a duplicate printed.

I believe you’re correct on that...

The proof on the app is fine as long as you don’t need a tag for the game animal.

Fishing, dove, etc is good but because you have to physically tag the animal, they will need the paper tags

As said, got to Walmart and get a replacement and they can print you a paper license.

Here’s a link that references the need for paper licenses for deer, turkey or to tag a red drum...

Starting Sept. 1, Texas hunters no longer need a license to hunt feral hogs on private property — and in many cases they won’t need to carry their paper hunting licenses with them on other hunts.
