    Bowhunting Setup around Mesquite/Cedar

What's everyone's bowhunting setup in areas where its mostly mesquite and cedar trees/bushes? Don't really have any good tall trees to utilize a tree stand where I hunt in the hill country. I've been utilizing pop-up blinds for the last few years but has been kind of an issue with having panels around feeders to keep sheep out and the occasional high-wind front blowing my pop-up into the next county. Was thinking of getting a shorter tripod (6'-10') and backing it up into the mesquite/cedar and brushing it in real good.

I have used shell style blinds on shirt platforms in these types of scenarios

Stab the tripod in the thickest cover with back drop that you can. Take that setting sun into account if it's an option with your feeder setup, to where you're shaded from the heat during October.

I use South Tx tripods in brush and hard shell blinds on platforms. I cut my teeth doing this in Brady Tx and do the same in Comstock Tx now. But I still have my favorites sets...the ones with tallest brush and trees vs the sets with not much cover. If no trees for tripods, hard shell blind on platform is awesome. Good luck man.

10 foot tripod is one of my favorite ways to hunt in any area. Tucked in an oak , mesquite or cedar for a backdrop.

A shell blind on a short platform would be my second.
