The dog tears up everything in the yard. Animal Control has been called twice. But not citations have been issued. It's been a real pain. I bought one of the devices linked above1.5 years ago. It worked for a few days. And the barking has gone back to non stop. I've changed the batteries twice just to make sure it works. It don't with this dog.

This dog is a perfect example of irresponsible pet ownership. Neither the son who now lives in Lubbock, nor his mother spend any time with the dog. I can walk over to the fence and she becomes very submissive posture and shuts up. She needs some attention, not left in the back yard alone.

I take care of my Lab.

I certainly sympathize. However, screaming at the dog and aggressively confronting the owner does nothing but put you in the wrong.

I’d try ear plugs and a fan for your wife.

        As expected.

To the OP, several good suggestions in this thread. Please don't choose the "roll over to make it easy on everybody" suggestion.

What’s your deal pal? I mean, I guess the owner could “talk” and “reason” with the dog to be quiet? It’s a **** dog...they bark, that’s what they do. I offered
advice that had worked for me in the past. No need to come on here and be a tool...

Exactly, just suggest the guy's wife put some ear plugs in because the neighbor's dogs are unruly.

No need to come on here and be a tool...

What part of they are dogs and they are barking during the day...in their yard did you miss? Like I said, I’ve worked nights and 24 hours shifts for years...ear plugs and fans make a huge difference. I guess you think Amazon and FedEx should stop delivering as well...

It doesn’t matter if it’s high noon on a Wednesday a person has no right to disrupt anyone’s ability to have peace and quiet. You or your dog can’t be acting a fool just because it’s before 10 pm. Get outta here with that.

I don't disagree but there's gray area. I never asked my neighbors not to mow the lawn just because I worked nights. I cranked the fan up and did the best I could.

That’s my point...because we work nights, I don’t expect my neighbors to change their routine and life...

But you should expect your neighbors to control their barking dogs, no matter what time of day it is.

It has nothing to do with working nights. Hell you don’t think retired people are entitled to peace and quiet? It has everything to do with being a responsible pet owner and not being an a hole neighbor.

Buy a White noise machine, we use this while sleeping and have no issues.

Had the same basic problem years ago. Lady at the p.d. had me keep teack of date and time of dogs barking and my calls to the p.d. and turn it in after a month or so. Ended up being 2 full sheets. She said if they can prove its an on going issue the d.a. would do something. (No idea if its tru or not) but a couple days after I turned in my log cops showed up and watched them wright a ticket to the homeowner in there front yard. Problem was solved after that.
