Has anyone used one of the cheap turbos sold on Ebay with success? I am toying with the idea of setting up a turbo on a Ford 300 inline six I will be rebuilding. Poor mans ecoboost on a old dinosaur motor should be fun

I have no personal experience but what US based turbo companies will tell you is that they dont have good quality control on their tolerances so you can get a good one that lasts forever or one that lasts a couple hundred miles and wipes out your engine. Now that is from US turbo guys that is quite self serving.

We slapped one in a ‘91 Honda Civic hatch back with b16a1 & a Gsr transmission. It was a blast, on 12lbs of boost it’s would smoke drag radials all the way threw 3rd gear. We backed down to 8lbs & slapped a wet kit on it with 75 shot so we could try to help with tire spin. It was an 11.0 car. Lasted about 5yrs, before the motor crapped out. I guess 125 shot was a little much.[emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787]

They are good kits if you don’t plant to abuse it much boost level should be kept moderate and make sure your air/fuel ratio is right as well have the supporting fuel system so you won’t max out anything. I’m planning on installing a turbo on my truck I will have to be doing the entire fuel system to support the power I want it to have. 376ci with heads, cam, intake mated to a 4180e and 4400 multidisc stall is not fun with nitrous anymore so boost is the way to go now. I have a stand alone fuel system to run race fuel and e85 on the stock fuel system
