Electra, TX Deer Hunting ?

Anybody hunt around Electra, TX? Curious what the deer are like (quality & quantity).

What’s the town like ? Anywhere to stay in town ?

I had a lease on 287 between Iowa Park and Electra for 10 years, the hunting was between fair and good. But, we had 2000 acres with 3 to 4 hunters and seemingly little hunting around us.

Dave will have ya drooling but I don’t know if the whole area is as good as his place..

If you hunt near the big ranch ( Waggoner ) chances are the hunting will be very good, there have been some huge deer killed in Wilbarger County. There is a little motel right on 287 in town, used to be a little restaurant called the Whistle Stop next door to it, not sure if it is open . There is a Mexican restaurant in town that has some pretty good food, other than that you are looking at Sonic food. You can PM me the location of lease and i may be able to shed some light on the area.

Used to hunt south of Electra on a place that backed up to the Waggoner- hunting was awesome. Killed a 163 and buddy killed one similar. If the place backs up to the Waggoner jump on it, if not hunting can be hit or miss
