Thanks. I added that to my list of discussion items with Farmers.

No, I did not blow out a tire. Farmers by way of their driver hit my wife thru no fault of her own and blew out our tire. The other tires are not ragged out they still have life in them. They are by no means new but they are also not ragged out. But if I'm understanding you correct you are saying to feel lucky that Farmers by way of their driver hit us and caused all of this because I get a free tire. I'm not buying that. Everything that has happened since she got hit has been a f'n hassle from renting a car (which took a week to get) to getting the car to the body shop (because Farmers had a miscommunication and thought it was already over there) to everything else. We don't feel lucky at all, sorry.

Nothing wrong with requesting the replacement of the 2nd tire. The worst thing the insurance company will do is say No.

However, I agree with others that more than likely, the answer will be No. They don't have an obligation to replace the existing, undamaged tire. If the tire had a lot of tread life left, it wouldn't even be a discussion. With that said, the tire shop is in the business of selling tires, so they are always going to suggest replacing the other even if it's not absolutely necessary.

I redact the “ you” and replace with at fault party’s need to make the victim whole, and I do feel your frustration as my truck was vandalized by a hoard of unmentionable political vandals before the election
And I was out $500 for my deductible and had to pay for a $300 bfg a/t tire out of pocket, dealing with insurance is a PIA even when your wife knows every angle from being in the insurance industry for 25 years , best of luck! hopefully no one was injured as that is a different animal

State Farm has been great to me in the two claims I've made in the 35 years I've been with them but heck, they've made a ton of money off me with the different coverages I've had.
On the other hand, claims ive had with other people's ins, were not so well handled and I had to go to war. Many here would not pursue the 2nd tire but it wouldn't be a problem for me. I am persistent and all in to win. Persistence is the key.

And, face to face works best. They don't like my ugly face.

                I didnt blow any tires...

I'm just saying that replacing one tire is not going to cause handling issues..... assuming the rest of the car is/ends up in good mechanical shape.
