You will have to pay for another tax stamp for each NFA item you have.

Not entirely true, if you already have NFA items as an individual and decide to setup a trust you can keep those items as an individual and not on the trust OR you can essentially purchase them from yourself and pay another $200 stamp and have them put on your trust.

If you want to transfer to the trust you will have to pay for the stamp again. You can have both or you can have more than one trust.
