    Bunk beds

I am outfitting a cabin that I am currently building.

A big piece of this puzzle will be the beds.

I want to maximize space - so several sets of quality bunk will be a must.

Has anyone purchased bunk beds either online, or at one of the big furniture outlets that worked well for both kids and adults? Price is important, but I don’t want the junk that comes in a box of 100 pieces.

Is it easier to just build built in bunk beds?

Would appreciate any recommendations or words to the wise.

    Thanks in advance.

Look for some old GI bunks. Just add a mattress or two.

If you looking to buy some, my wife is looking to sell two sets (4 beds). They are heck for stout. We are in Christoval (south of San Angelo). $300 per set w/ mattresses. Price is firm.

I'm going to build these in my camp one day. My idea is build them big enough for a grown man, with respects to length and width. Here are a few links of pictures for some ideas. I think you can make these yourself. Also, there is a company in TX that makes kits, Gulf Coast Custom Woodcraft. If you have 10' ceilings, you could stack 3 bunks.

Im going to build mine. I built just a twin xl frame from 2x4 and 2x6. Was really easy and looks good.
Probably cost $100 in lumber, maybe a little more per bed and it will be solid.

                Thanks,
Let me share those with the wife and get her feedback. We are W of Mertzon about 20 minutes so that’s not too far from me.
I’ll shoot you a PM with any questions

I’m in for your build or decision.

Also got an 8 inch mattress in a box on amazon for 99.00. cant remember what kind it was but it has a 2 inch memory foam top. Could not ask for a better lease mattress. it comes in a small box and vacuum sealed. take it out the box, kinda roll it out, poke it with a knife and stand back.
