It's a bit of a weird situation because I wasn't in the market for a new bow so don't know anything about these fancy gizmos and haven't shot any of them, and I'm also a Bowtech guy or used to be. I got some inside intel that I may have a new bow coming for Christmas when the shop called me saying my bow order arrived and it's ready to pick up... LOL... wife bought me a V3. It's a 27" ATA bow and I'm 6' tall with 29" draw which will almost max it out and I'd imagine string angle will be pretty extreme. Would I be better off with the V3 31 inch bow? I haven't asked the shop but she bought a bare bow and I haven't touched it yet so they may let me swap it out. Definitely not returning it for anything else just trying to choose in case they give me the option and in case they don't have any in the shop I can shoot.

I would go 31. I have the VXR 28 and I unknowingly limited myself in shot distance. Having the HHA kingpin, I wanted to shoot out to 100 but I can only get 85 before my arrow/vane would hit the site housing. Short riser and String angle is too much to allow for that longer distance. The 31 will have enough clearance to maximize distance with any site.

Im the same height and draw length as you and was about to pull the trigger on a vxr last year but was thinking 28 was too short coming from shooting a 32" halon....I wanted to go shorter just not that short....I had hoped this year they would do something like a vxr or the new v3 but in a 30" axa format like the vertix but it wasn't the case....

If you think the V3 31 and 27 will be somewhat alike overall besides the string angle, you will be sadly mistaken. The 31 is nice.
If you would’ve blind folded me and handed me the 27 and had me draw it back, I would’ve thought it was an unbranded budget bow. Worst draw cycle I’ve ever felt, hands down. Worse than a Hoyt. That should hurt some feelings lolLast edited by Sleepy; 12-13-2020, 07:49 PM.
