Looks like the Assassin beetle that we called blood suckers when I was a kid in South Texas. Thanks to all of the Illegal Aliens that have come into our country from South America, many of these bugs are now carriers of Chagas Disease. If you are not familiar with Chagas, I highly suggest that you do a little research on this disease as it can be lethal to dogs, especially puppies and cause serious health problems to humans. While I have lost puppies to Chagas, it is especially a problem in South Texas and along the coast.
