I figured someone here may be able to tell me what my options are, as I'm officially out of ideas.
I own a 2015 Ram 1500 (ecodiesel). It was the best truck I've ever owned, until September 15th, when it just QUIT on me while driving down a residential street. After doing my own research, and later confirming with the dealership, my truck suffered a failure of the (Crank Position Sensor / Reluctor Wheel)
September 15th - I pay to have my truck towed to the local Ram dealership for diagnosis and repair.
Checked in with service department on Oct 2, since they hadn't given me an update - Told about the ring failure, and that it was on backorder with no ETA, although the part would be covered under warranty.
Checked in on Oct 15th - was told part was going to be in on Oct 23, and truck should be done by Oct. 26th.
I go to dealership on Oct 26th to check in since truck was supposed to be ready somtime that day. I'm told part was backordered again, and that new shipping estimate was December 1st.
Checked in November 30th, and I'm told it was set to arrive at dealership December 8th.
Checked in today, and I'm told the new date of part shipping is going to be January 7th.
I was offered a loaner (small sedan) at the dealership early on, and I told them that wouldn't work since I need to tow camper to the lease, and haul dirtbikes for the kids. No help.
I reached out to Chrysler Customer Support, and I was told that I could submit receipts for any rentals that I had to make during this time for "Possible Re-Imbursement".
I've rented a truck "as needed" on weekends a couple times to make it back and forth to the lease, and am saving all receipts until this is done.
I'm just at a loss for what my options are, I made my payoff payment on this truck last month, still making monthly insurance payments. I haven't been able to use my camper this season, due to no way to tow it.
Had to pay for an enclosed trailer I had built to be delivered to Houston from GA, since I didn't have my truck to go pick it up as planned.
What are my options? Sorry for the long rant / post.
