can't help with the shells but I shot a 16g though my 12g once on accident (shells were the same color) and boy was that a weird sound.

just picked up a 16g. bolt action mossburg w- a adjustable poly choke at a gunshow last weekend,basspro ,scheels,walmart and most other gun stores carry them,not a large selection of shot sizes,but most places have them.was the 1st shotgun i ever had.

I have a 16g Wingmaster that I love for dove hunting. Typically can't find shells at WalMart or Academy so when I do find them online, I usually buy a couple cases. I think Cabela's was the last place I picked up a couple.
