    Maximum twist for 7mm 160g

I built a 7mag several years back with a 26" 1:9 twist. It will handle the heavies very well, shooting the 180g Berger VLDs in to 3/8" groups consistently. I am about to do some changing up on the gun to make it more hunting friendly (cutting weight). I would like to go back to my 160g Accubond and was wondering if the 1:9 would be too "fast". I did try the 168 Bergers and 168 SMK in it and they were not nearly as accurate as the 180s.

Too fast a twist is only a problem for benchrest shooters and varmint hunters using highly frangible bullets. Don’t worry about it.
