IMO there should be no limit to what you can possess if you acquire it legally. Fishing legal, keeping 25 a day, ought to be enough. It's BS to come back around and bust people for what's in their freezer.

Idk the whole story but there’s lots of folks that come stay there in RVs all winter stocking a chest freezer with crappie and taking them back with them when they go home. If they’re catching the legal daily limit I don’t see a problem with it. If they’re catching limits morning and evening then screw em.

I live about 15 minutes from LOP and the story is these 2 had been camping there for 5 days and had caught these fish over those 5 days. Supposedly they had a small chest freezer with them that they kept them in until their departure. To me as long as they don't keep more than the allotted 25 per day per person I see no issue. So if you camp for a week you are only allowed to have 50 fish in your possession.

Same story I heard, I know the law and I think it's bs if the story is true.

Should've had someone ferry them home. Once at your residence you can stack all you want. Until home play by the possession rules.

Ehh. The law is pretty clear on bag limits and possession limits. It gets a little murkier on “residence”. Once at your residence you can have all the fish you can fit. Regardless, people should be aware of the laws.

possession limits are another way of managing harvest numbers, just like daily bag limits. the law is pretty straightforward to me.

^this. Without possession what’s to stop people with 200 fish saying they been camping for 8 days? Always someone trying to take advantage - can’t follow the guidelines set forth dont fish or hunt

This thread reminds me of an older woman I know that was arrested with a truck full of white bass. If they'll arrest grandma they'll arrest anyone
